Day Use Areas
At the Waterfront
Most of the Day Use Areas at Imperial Dam have swimming, fishing, fire rings and picnic tables. No overnight camping is allowed. The Day Use Areas are located on, or overlook, the Senator Wash Reservoir or Squaw Lake. Senator Wash Reservoir is a storage area for the Imperial Dam. It has no access to the Colorado River. Squaw Lake has easy access to the Colorado River. No matter which Day Use Area you choose, you will have a fantastic time!
Senator Wash Vista
Located next to the BLM Service Area, overlooking Senator Wash Reservoir, this is a favorite group area. It has numerous picnic tables and is right next to the flush-toilet bathrooms. The views of Senator Wash are spectacular.
Senator Wash Beach
The Senator Wash Day Use Area is located directly on the Senator Wash Reservoir. It is a favorite place for families and swimmers alike.
Squaw Lake Cove
Located on Squaw Lake, on a spit that jets out from the campground, is a great day use area with fire pits and picnic tables. A favorite of swimmers and fishermen alike.
Squaw Lake Point
Located next to the BLM Service Area, overlooking Senator Wash Reservoir, this is a favorite group area. With numerous picnic tables and right next to the flush-toilet bathrooms. The views of Senator Wash are spectacular.
Squaw Lake Lagoon
Located next to the Squaw Lake Boat Ramps, hidden behind the showers, is a perfect place for a picnic or family outing. Right on Squaw Lake, it is a favorite of fishermen.
